The Vampire Armand is the 6th novel in Anne Rice's Vampire series and as such, it is probably best to have read the previous novels to get the most out of this one. It follows the same writing formula as her previous novels and is neither fast paced nor a boring shuffle/5.

The Vampire Armand () In this installment of The Vampire Chronicles, Anne Rice summons up dazzling worlds to bring us the story of Armand -- eternally young, with the face of a Botticelli angel.

We travel with Armand across the centuries to the Kiev Rus of his boyhood -- a ruined city under Mongol dominion -- and to ancient Constantinople. The Vampire Armand is fatally flawed, and considering the protagonist is immortal, that’s quite a dilemma.

I look forward to every new release by Anne Rice, and enjoyed Pandora, her last release in her vampire series. However, she hasn’t written a keeper for me since Taltos (one of her Mayfair Witch series), and hasn’t written a vampire keeper since Queen of the Damned.

The Vampire Armand. If I had thought my transformation into a vampire meant the end of my tutelage or apprenticeship to Marius, I was quite wrong.

I wasn't immediately set free to wallow in the joys of my new powers. The night after my metamorphosis, my education began in earnest.

I was to be prepared now not for a temporal life but for eternity. "The Vampire Armand" is one of the novels in the "The Vampire Chronicle" series by author Anne Rice.

The story follows the main character, Armand, who originally made an appearance in the novel "Interview with a Vampire". In this story, Armand takes the reader back to his boyhood, growing up in a poor family in Kiev, an area of Russia.

Readers of her novel, Memnoch the Devil, will recall that the vampire Armand ended his existence by stepping into the sun. Since he was a popular character from earlier tales, a resounding.

The Vampire Armand is one of the more interesting books in the Vampire Chronicles. Despite what the previos reviewer has said, I thought the narration to be fine, and have listened to this book more than once.

This book tells the story of the life and making of Armand. It is a very interesting and compelling story of a young man, made a vampire. The Vampire Armand is nothing short of exceptional as compared to any other novel by Anne Price.

At least true for the level and quality of content and its characters. The novel is part 6 of The Vampire Chronicles series and this is the first novel of the series, which is a pure horror fiction, rather than the paranormal science fiction fantasy 2/5(1).

However, while all the other vampire books are read by very talented readers, the reader of unabridged The Vampyre Armand was awful. There was no evidence of eternal youth or need or abandonment. He could have read a good older vampyre with no wit quite well, but not the man-child seeking love and redemption, feeling unlovable but needing love.

The Vampire Armand (The Vampire Chronicles, Book 6) eBook: Anne Rice: : Kindle StoreReviews:   Armand isn't as interesting a vampire as Lestat, but "The Vampire Armand" is mostly a good reread. The only part (a big part, likely, for most readers) that I didn't like and wanted to be concluded was the Marius/Armand villa living era/5().

After a very long hiatus, I recently got back into Anne Rice, having read the first three books of THE VAMPIRE CHORNICLES many years ago. In THE VAMPIRE ARMAND, she takes one of her secondary characters from those books and gives him the center stage, letting him tell his story to the fledging vampire David Talbot in the wake of the events from MEMNOCH THE DEVIL/5(44).

I did like Santino and the reminder of the Night Island - books involving them would have been good - and "The Vampire Armand" was a satisfying sequel to "Memnoch the Devil," ice and eaves and all. P.S. Benji is a little less annoying - a little - as a mortal than he is as a Michael Jackson-cloning vampire/5().

This book was the first book by Anne Rice I read. Her ability to capture the characters personality, struugles in life and the way she leaves you wanting and waiting for more got me hooked.
